How is your issue interconnected with other global issues?
Suicide happens all over the world and to anyone. Even if you d don't think so. Everyone can have suicidal thoughts at least once in those life time. Every year around the world more than 800,000 people die by suicide. Globally, suicide is the second leading cause of death in 15- to 20-year-olds. WHO reports that for every person who dies as a result of suicide, there may be more than 20 who survive an attempt. It's the second leading cause of death? Shocking. It's at a high rate because people take their lives away when they should be living or trying to solve their issues out, trying to save themselves. There are always other people watching for them. In countries where suicide is illegal, decriminalization appears to lower suicide rates. Statistically, we can make all countries make suicide illegal, and reduce the amount of suicides being done, and it'll bring the percentage of 800,000 people killing themselves in one year down.
What makes gloabal issues so difficult to address?
Looking at the world around us today, it seems like there’s no end to humanity’s problems. The answer, according to a (somewhat) new way of thinking being introduced to the political sciences called complex systems theory, is that we are, quite literally, too complex to understand. Complex systems theorists see almost uniformity in the world around them.
