I chose this topic because I lost someone who was extremely special to me because of suicide. Suicide is never seen as a real issue, when in reality it is. Suicide is the mind's’ greatest enemy; those who aren't mentally stable will be defeated by those darkening thoughts of killing themselves. I found out those random thoughts of killing yourself do have a significance because one day it will come true, so it is better to go seek help before it is too late. Reaching out to those who seem depressed is the best thing to do because sometimes a person does not know how to go out and search for help. Although someone may seem happy on the outside, you don't know what is happening to them on the inside. Stephanie was always such a happy girl, and nothing seemed wrong with her, then one day she decided to end her life and take a piece of me with her. Once someone is gone you then realize how much you truly need them. So the best thing to do is always make sure those you love are okay and also those that surround you because everyone is important, even if they feel like they are not. I am mostly proud of understanding the reasons behind suicide and the reasons that make people do such awful acts. People who commit suicide do it because they need help, help they never asked for or help they might have never gotten. They kill themselves due to temporary issues that at the end won't bring them back once it is over. The cognitive reasons behind why they commit suicide justifies their actions and allows us to help those who have similar disorders or problems.
